Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dassault Systèmes.
Senior Frontend Developer
The interview had 4 stages: first, an HR call, then a chat with the hiring manager, followed by an online assessment, and finally an onsite technical interview. The onsite technical interview focused on frontend concepts in a textbook style, not very practical. The interviewers were helpful and provided hints.
- Can you explain the internal workings of React's usememo hook?
- Could you define what a Closure is in programming?
Front End Developer
It is a 5 round interview process. 1. aptitude 2. Technical aptitude and coding 3. Technical round 4. behavioral round 5. managerial round/HR. The whole thing is online because of COVID-19. Rounds 1 and 2 are what you can expect. There were questions about react, PHP, javascript, CSS. Round 3 is mainly about javascript and its frameworks. I solved a lot of questions using Array methods. Round 4 is a behavioral round where they ask why you're leaving your current job, about past projects, and then some puzzles. Round 5, if you get here, congrats, you've done great, and here they ask about your previous companies and salary expectations.
- Did you write unit tests for the class you developed?
- Can you tell me about array-related questions?
Frontend Developer
The process was smooth, with 3 rounds in total. It included a coding assessment, a technical interview, and a final culture fit interview. The interviews focused heavily on JavaScript fundamentals, core concepts, and included some basic coding problems and logic questions.
- Can you explain hoisting in JavaScript?
- What are the differences between let, const, and var?
- Explain JavaScript closures.
