Behavioral Technical Other

I had 2 interviews for this role for the company based in Pune. One with manager and one with senior manager. The first round was good but the second one was terrible. The manager asked irrelevant and personal questions which I was uncomfortable to answer and asked ridiculous follow up questions which had no sense at all. The HR is also incompetent of their work. He was consistently calling me when he had to schedule the interviews but ghosted me after the interviews.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • questions about your background and some hypothetical questions
  • if you get this senior manager in the interview he will ask you personal questions

Behavioral Technical Presentation Other

A recruiter reached out about a role, and I specified I was only considering Sr. Director positions. They agreed and proceeded with the interview process. It involved many hours and several rounds of HR and fit-focused panel interviews. Ultimately, I received a brief message stating they were continuing their search, with no explanation or feedback provided. I later learned the role was reposted as a remote Senior Director position, which felt like a waste of my time given the initial conversations. The CIO's interview style was notably condescending, and she seemed to emphasize her 'technical' (not strategically technical) role, which struck me as odd. I'd caution against this company due to its disorganization and the CIO's unclear approach.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The questions seemed more focused on extracting information for their future use rather than understanding my potential contributions to the role.
  • It felt like they weren't genuinely considering me for the position anyway, which now makes sense.

So the process started with a Java testing and QA role. There was an online MCQ test covering Java OOP, automation testing, and frameworks, and it included 3 coding questions: printing a number pyramid, binary search, and counting character occurrences in a string. After the test, there were 3 interviews: a technical round, a managerial round, and an HR interview. The interviewers were pretty chill and helpful. My freelance testing experience was a plus. They even gave us a free veg thali for lunch.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Can you print a number pyramid?
  • Implement the Binary Search Algorithm.
  • How would you count the occurrences of characters in a string?

Technical

The interview process was quite disappointing. I went through two rounds, each an hour long, and was supposed to have a third 45-minute session. But in that last round, the interviewer was 5 minutes late. The interview, which was supposed to be 45 minutes, ended up being only 25 minutes long. What really shocked me was that the interviewer hadn't even looked at my resume. It was super unprofessional. Honestly, if you've blocked time for an interview on your calendar, you should stick to it. To make it worse, during the final round, the interviewer changed the job requirements and description, adding new skills that weren't in the original posting. I'd spent over a month preparing, so this change was a huge letdown. I get that people can be rejected for valid reasons like not fitting the skills or culture, but this whole experience showed a real lack of management. Companies need to be professional and consistent throughout the hiring process, and this definitely wasn't.
