The interview process started with a call to my name from the recruitment team to go over my background and see if I was a good fit to move forward to the hiring manager. Following this, I had a Teams interview with the hiring manager. The interview stages themselves were fine, no concerns there. However, I want to provide feedback that after following up with my dedicated recruitment coordinator, I was told they would get back to me by the start of the week (which is normal). But then, I received a generic rejection email. This was very disappointing because I had invested time in interviewing, and I was assigned a 'dedicated' recruitment coordinator. I get using a generic email when you don't make it to the interview stage, but getting one after interviewing felt like my time was completely disrespected. At a minimum, I would have expected a more personalized email with feedback on my interview performance to help me improve.

Technical Coding System Design Behavioral

The interview process started with a hiring manager interview to go over my background. Then, an engineering manager interview to discuss my background, system design, and execution experience. Following that, there was a live coding puzzle exercise and another live coding exercise in a JS environment. Next was the architecture / system design exercise, which I was accused of cheating on because I did too well. I was asked to re-do it, and though I did okay, it wasn't as good as the first time. Ultimately, they cut me loose citing suspicions of cheating. This was super unprofessional, especially since I had already completed 6 interviews (not including the re-do) with them and performed excellently in all of them. After that, I was ghosted and couldn't defend myself. Before the system design issue, there was also a behavioral / cultural fit interview called 'Orange Cloud'. Then, a project manager interview to discuss cross-collaboration experience. Another 'Skip' interview followed to discuss cross-collaboration and team fit. Finally, there was a C-level executive interview asking about my motivations for joining and why I'm a good fit.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was long but efficient. The hiring manager was nice and communicative, which helped speed things up and ensure everything went smoothly. STUDY. Do your research on your interviewers, familiarize yourself with Cloudflare's products, and be organized for the mock discovery call. Always have 3-5 questions ready to ask your interviewers, and try to avoid basic questions like salary or PTO. Good questions show you're as invested in the job as they are in hiring you. Make sure you have strong, personalized answers for "why Cloudflare?" and "why tech sales?"

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

It was a 7 round process! Farcically long. I progressed to the 6th round (discovery and culture fit call) then got rejected without a reason. When I followed up, the recruiter told me I wasn't a culture fit, even though her colleague had told me the 3 questions that would be asked. Further probing revealed my 'inappropriate and unprofessional' conduct on the call with an infrastructure architect in Singapore. He cited three reasons: being in my car, mentioning a date I had in response to being asked about my week, and speaking negatively about an ex-colleague (team lead) who bullied her reps. The recruiter is now trying to convey my side of the story to the hiring manager. If you value your time, look elsewhere. Joke of a company.
