The interview process was tough but really worth it, you just gotta do your homework. I talked with lots of different teams and they asked about how I handled certain situations, how familiar I was with Cloudflare and its competitors, and my ability to think quickly. Things moved fast, they got back to me right away, and I was really into joining the company even before I met my manager or saw the office.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

So there were like 5 rounds for this, and it took about 3 months to get to the end. It started with the recruiter, then the hiring manager, someone I'd be working with, and then this 'Orange Cloud' interview. Everyone seemed really nice, like great people to work with. I did well in all the interviews until the last one, but then the recruiter told me they couldn't match my salary expectations. They said the max they could offer was about £20k less than what a Senior TAM should get, which is way lower than expected for a big tech company. They talked about different salary levels like 'seniors' and 'senior seniors'. I don't think any Senior TAM at a big vendor would be paid that, maybe someone less senior. It was a bummer because I've always liked and respected Cloudflare.

Technical Other

The interview process involved a 30-minute phone screen with the hiring manager, a written assignment, and a three-hour panel interview with five Cloudflare employees. The follow-up process was disappointing; I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for an answer after the panel interview, which is too long. After three weeks with no response, I contacted the recruiters. Within an hour, I got an automated rejection email. Cloudflare's handling of the follow-up was disrespectful to candidates who invested five hours. They should provide feedback as interviewing is a two-way street. Due to this experience, I will not reapply to Cloudflare and have accepted a higher-paying role in cloud security.
