This interview process was extremely disorganized. I was initially screened for a senior manager role, but after a week of interviews, I was informed it was an IC leadership position. Some interviewers seemed unaware of the role's specifics, asking general company questions as they didn't work with the intended team. In one instance, the coordinator double-booked the slot, requiring a reschedule. The single technical interview was rushed and chaotic; the interviewer became impatient during the coding exercise, cut me off when I tried to explain my approach, and just told me to 'just write it in code.' Several months later, I received a rejection email, despite the hiring manager's promise to reach out personally. On a positive note, everyone I met was friendly and seemed intelligent. Cloudflare employees generally appear happy and are working on valuable network security products. However, the interview process itself is flawed, as others have mentioned. Candidate time and effort should be respected.

Behavioral Technical

This was a horrible interview experience. I do not recommend applying for a job at Cloudflare's product team. The VP is a young woman who clearly has no interview experience. She was incredibly rude and lacked any soft skills needed for interviewing. She joined the Google Meet call three minutes late and immediately started asking questions. After about 8 minutes and only two questions in, she told me I should look for other jobs. Her behavior was completely inappropriate and rude, showing a lack of respect for applicants. With over 14 years in the tech industry, I was shocked to encounter someone like this.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interviews were pretty laid-back and informal. They weren't structured, but they did check your communication and product skills. You'll need to figure out what the interviewer is really asking with their vague questions. So, my advice is to try to reframe their questions and pin down the specific tool or skill they're interested in. Also, try to get them to give an example of what they're thinking about.
