We had a coding and MCQ test covering java, spring, kafka, and java8. Then there were two technical rounds. The first one was a deep dive into java basics, spring, springboot, and microservices. The second technical round was a client round where we did a code-along and they asked questions. Finally, there was a managerial round which was scenario-based.

The interview was initially planned to be fully in-person and completed on the same day. However, after the first round, they informed me that the L2 interviewer was unavailable, so the remaining rounds were moved to a virtual format. Two days later, I had the L2 round, which was somewhat of a review. The interviewer asked technical and HR questions. They repeatedly inquired about my current and expected salary, and if I was open to negotiation. I confirmed I was. I suspect there was a budget issue, and felt it was a waste of my time as they should have clarified budget constraints beforehand. It was a very poor experience.

The interview process with CGI was pretty structured, with several stages. Talking with the interview panel was professional and they stuck to relevant technical topics. The questions touched on backend development, system design, and general software engineering ideas, which all seemed to fit the job. It was a good discussion about my experience, how I approach technical problems, and solving real-world issues. But, after the last round, I didn't hear anything back. It would have been nice to get even a quick update on whether my application was moving forward. Getting back to candidates promptly shows professionalism and respect for their time and effort. The silence after the final round was a bit disappointing, honestly.

J'ai été contactée par l'entreprise pour mon profil et j'ai eu deux entretiens. Le premier entretien, c'est la commerciale qui m'avait contactée qui m'a dit que mon profil ne correspondait pas. On a surtout parlé de mes autres processus en cours, avec des questions insistantes sur les clients, ceux à qui mon entreprise avait envoyé mon profil, et si mon employeur était au courant de ma recherche. J'ai senti qu'on voulait des infos sur le marché. Le deuxième entretien, les RH ont juste lu mon CV à voix haute en posant des questions sur des trucs déjà écrits (dates, périodes). Pas de retour après les entretiens, même après relances. Ce silence montre un manque de professionnalisme et de respect pour le temps des candidats.
