Consultant Intern
It started with a recruiter screening call, then a HR interview focusing on motivation and experience. After that, there was an onsite interview with the manager, which included a technical part about project management methods and Excel, and a discussion comparing my personal experiences.
- What is consulting?
Intern
I had a really good time interviewing. The people who interviewed me were nice, asked questions about my technical skills and how I solve problems, and really seemed interested in the projects I've done. It felt very back-and-forth, I learned a lot, and it made me feel more confident about finding jobs later on.
- Could you describe a project you were involved in, detailing the obstacles encountered and your solutions?
Intern
You start by applying online through CGI's website or job boards, make sure to tailor your resume and cover letter. If you get shortlisted, they'll give you a call for an initial screening to talk about your background, skills, and why you're interested in the role. Then, depending on the job, you might have to do some coding challenges, technical tests, or problem-solving exercises. If you pass that, you'll have a technical interview, which could be over the phone, video, or in-person, and it'll focus on the skills needed for the role. They'll also ask you behavioral interview questions to check your soft skills, teamwork, and if you're a good fit for the company culture. For some jobs, you might have an on-site interview, especially if it's a collaborative role or needs specific equipment. Lastly, you might have a final interview with some senior leaders to discuss your long-term goals and how you align with the company's vision and what contributions you can make.
- Can you tell me about your experience and previous responsibilities?
