Behavioral Other

Got referred by someone and had a good initial interview, felt a good connection with the team and they seemed keen on hiring me. They mentioned they needed to finalize the role details but were interested in me joining. I brought up needing a TN visa, and they were initially positive about the onboarding process. They stayed in touch for about a month, giving positive feedback. Then, HR contacted me stating they couldn't support a TN visa due to insufficient funds. I clarified that the employee covers the TN visa costs and I was willing to do so. HR responded, 'they have an internal visa application process which they don’t have the sufficient funds for. Thank you next.' The whole experience was confusing, stressful, and ultimately disappointing.

I applied on CBRE's website. A recruiter called me to ask why I want to work for CBRE and in this role, and about my resume. Then, I had a video interview on Microsoft Teams with my future mentor, bosses, and coworkers. They asked if I had prior maintenance work experience, how I troubleshoot problems, and generally got to know me to see if I'm coachable. Next, my mentor called me to come on-site for a facility tour and to see the job scope. Finally, my mentor called to offer me the job. The whole process took about a month.

Behavioral Technical

My experience was really good, I ended up getting an offer this past summer and had a chance to work with a bunch of cool projects. The first round for the interview is usually a video interview where you might get asked a few basic/behavioral questions. After passing that, you'll get an invite for the final interview which will be with your potential manager/team lead. Nothing too technical, but make sure you know what you're talking about, and it was mostly based on what my experience is and projects.
