The overall interview process was professional and well-organized. Recruiter communication was clear, and scheduling was straightforward. The interviews were structured, focusing on my experience and how I handle transactions, deadlines, and stakeholder collaboration. Most questions were behavioral, with a strong emphasis on client service, problem-solving, and managing competing priorities. The interviewers seemed knowledgeable and genuinely interested in understanding my day-to-day operations.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I went through several interviews and they seemed good. While I get that not getting the job is normal, what bothered me is that after they rejected me, they changed the job description to include things from my resume and our talks. It felt like my ideas were good enough to change the job but not good enough to hire me. It's a bummer to feel like what I brought to the table was valued more than me. I hope it wasn't anything personal or biased, and they should think about how they treat applicants whose input helps them shape roles.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was ultimately very unprofessional. I had one phone interview with the recruiter, one Teams interview with the hiring manager, one on-site interview, and another Teams interview. The interviews were casual and all went well until they made a verbal offer and I asked if there was any room for negotiation in the salary. The hiring manager made the verbal offer on the phone but had no details about the overall compensation package other than the base salary and that I'd be eligible for unlimited vacation. The hiring manager mentioned they didn't like that they were the one extending the offer when they didn't have the details but said they'd see if there was anything else that could be done with the salary and that they'd get back to me within 2 business days. I thanked them and said I was excited about the role. I hadn't heard anything after lunch on the 2nd business day so I followed up with a text saying I was still excited and checking in to see if there was any update on the offer. I said I was available for a phone call. I received a text back stating "Unfortunately I was not able to gain approval for an increase in salary. I do apologize and wish you the best on your search." I was appalled that they were rescinding the offer via a text message. Negotiating salary should not be held against an applicant. It is just a question. The offer wasn't even at the top end of the range that the recruiter quoted. If they couldn't offer more, I understand, and was actually planning to accept, but that should have been a conversation over the phone, not a text message. I called and had to leave a voicemail. I followed up with a text asking if we could discuss things further on the phone and hiring manager wanted to speak the following day. When I asked for their availability the following day I got no response. By 2pm the following day, I hadn't heard anything else so I called and had to leave a voicemail again. I got a text back saying they were in a meeting and that they were rescinding the verbal offer. Incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful to not even give the curtesy of a phone call discussion.
