This Manager-level job interview process was way too long and messy, taking more than two months from start to finish, beginning in late January. Even though I made it to the final interview and was told I was a top choice, there was no follow-up at all. A major problem was the huge amount of personal and professional documents they wanted before the face-to-face meeting, which felt like a lot for a stage before any offer was even on the table. The whole thing took about 9 weeks, which is super slow for a big company these days. Also, even though I was a finalist, HR and the Hiring Manager never reached out; I always had to ask for updates and then got a rejection after almost two months without clear reasons. It seemed like they didn't communicate internally about the budget, as they claimed my salary expectations were too high in the final stages, even though it was on my CV from the start. It's unprofessional to waste so much time on interviews if budget is an issue.

Behavioral

It was interesting, I passed the first stage with HR and then went straight to the interview with the manager. She mentioned there would be a lot of travel, which actually excited me because I like new challenges and opportunities to see different work environments. She also explained that the pace would be intense at times, but there would be a lot of autonomy in managing my schedule. I got even more motivated when she talked about the ongoing projects and how my technical experience could be valuable. I left the interview with a good feeling about the team and more confident that this could be a significant next step in my career. Now I'm eagerly awaiting their response.

I applied online and then got an email with seven follow-up questions. After I sent my answers, they invited me for an interview with the hiring manager and the team. The interview seemed to go really well, and I learned a lot and had a good chat with them. They even mentioned a next step with another colleague, which felt promising. I asked about the timeline, and they said I'd hear back the next week. But then, silence. I emailed them, but got no response. Two months later, I messaged again asking for feedback. HR finally replied, apologizing and saying they'd gone with someone else. While I get that not everyone gets picked, the lack of communication, especially after making it seem like I was moving on, felt really off. It's disappointing to be ghosted after a positive interaction and doesn't make for a good candidate experience.

Behavioral Presentation

During my interview with Canon, I got to talk about why I want to work there and my interest in their products and the imaging industry. I explained how my skills in data analysis, organization, and using tools like Excel could help support the product managers. They asked about my grasp of the market and marketing tools, and I showed my enthusiasm, curiosity, and readiness to get involved in their projects. I also mentioned how much I admire their tech innovations and their influence in the industry.
