First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Canon.
Software Engineer
The interview process was smooth. The interviewers were nice and knowledgeable. The questions asked had good variety and were well-aligned with the job description. The behavioral questions were relevant and not generic.
- Can you explain the pipeline for volume rendering?
Software Engineer
The application process had 2 parts 1. Algorithm exercise (3 items): with language choice of either python, java, or c# 2. HR interview. The HR interview was mostly about just getting to know the applicant's personality. I think they would give you additional details about their physical & medical exam as the next step if you passed.
- How did you hear about us?
Software Developer
The interview was pretty easy. First, there was a written test with C++ (mostly C) and aptitude. Then, a Panel interview followed, which was also easy as the interviewers only knew C and a bit of C++. They mostly asked about pointers, strings, and virtual tables. After that, a 1:1 Manager round happened. This one was a bit tricky. The manager asked about my current project and some technical questions, which weren't difficult. However, she seemed to dislike my attitude, and I was rejected at this stage.
- What would you do if you had too much work to complete and your manager wouldn't assist?
- Can you explain why you're interested in joining Canon despite it not being in your current field?
