First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boots.
Dispenser
Had a fair chat with the interviewer. He was laid back. Asked me retail-based competency questions, nothing pharmacy or dispensing or product knowledge related. Even though they say no experience required on the JD, they still expect you to have a relevant qualification.
- Tell me about a time you worked within a team.
- Describe a situation where you prevented escalation.
- What are your understandings of this role?
Beauty Specialist
It was a really straightforward interview process. The manager just asked me some questions about my personal beauty habits, what's trending in beauty right now, and about my past work experience. I only had the one interview, and it was held in the staff office at Boots.
- Can you describe your current beauty routine?
- What are your thoughts on current beauty trends?
- Could you tell me about your previous experience?
Sales Associate
It was an easy and quick interview. They just wanted to see if I had confidence and knew my way around. I had to pretend to be keen and wanting to work for Boots. They had me find a handful of items and go around the store to see how quick I collected everything. It was pretty straightforward; the quicker and more accurate you are with the products, the higher your chance of getting the job.
- Can you tell me why you want to work for Boots?
- What specifically appeals to you about our company?
Sales Advisor
The interview involved questions about my previous experience and how I'd handle difficult situations, like dealing with challenging customers. They also asked about my availability for shifts. I also had a trial where I worked on the shop floor, helped customers, and observed interactions.
- What are three skills that you would bring to this sales advisor position?
- Tell me about your past experience.
- How would you handle a challenging customer?
