Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boots.
Cashier
The interview process was thorough, discreet, direct, positive, and informative. They provided quick feedback and seemed to understand exactly what they needed in a candidate. The staff was friendly, and overall, it gave a good vibe of what it would be like to work there.
- What systems are you familiar with and what was your prior experience?
- Can you describe your previous experience?
Shop Assistant
The interview included standard questions, and then I was asked to go onto the shop floor. I had to show a customer my favourite product and explain why it's great, or ask a customer if they needed any assistance.
- What's your favorite product at Boots and what makes it special to you?
- Please find your favorite product from Boots and explain why it's so good.
- Could you go find your favorite product sold by Boots and tell me why you like it so much?
Shop Assistant
You begin by completing an online aptitude test on the application site. If you do well, they'll contact you to schedule an in-person interview. The interview itself was pretty chill, just one-on-one with a manager. It wasn't super formal or intense, actually felt pretty friendly and I was comfortable asking stuff. Good for students wanting retail experience since it was laid-back and the interviewer didn't stress you out or criticize if you didn't know something. After the interview, they'll let you know the results and if they're offering you a position.
- What experience do you have?
- How would you be a good fit for this position?
- What would you do if a customer needed assistance?
