The initial screening interview was the only stage. The recruiter reached out via email within two days of applying. They were professional and nice, offering multiple 30-minute Google Meet times. It was more of a 'getting to know you' chat to check relevant experience rather than a technical interview. The recruiter said they wanted to advance my application to the management stage, and things seemed to be going well. However, nothing happened after that. When I followed up, they stated their focus shifted to filling senior leadership roles, not the one I applied for. I'm not sure if they hired someone for that role. The outcome was unexpected given their initial enthusiasm.

Got the interview through an internal referral after my LinkedIn application got rejected. First round was an English AI test with spoken answer questions and typing assessments that simulated customer support. After passing, I had an HR interview where they asked about my past experience and reasons for leaving, with on-the-spot feedback. The final round was with 2 team leads who asked similar questions and how I’d handle situations, plus another typing test. Got the results the next day. Everyone was polite and friendly, and I got the results the next working day.

The process began with an assessment, which included an English test that didn't seem to be a requirement for the role, and a chat simulation. The chat simulation was relevant to the job. The HR interview went well; the recruiter was clear and polite, and said my profile was a good fit. However, the manager interview was rushed and disengaging, suggesting they might have already made a hiring decision. Following this, there was a complete lack of communication, no feedback or updates, which felt disrespectful after multiple stages.

Behavioral System Design Technical Technical

I went through three rounds. First was a recruiter call where they asked personal questions. The first technical interview was about systems design, specifically how to achieve 99.99% uptime for an exchange and how to handle failures. The second technical interview focused on Node.js understanding, asking about measuring latency for 50 feeds with 10,000 messages per second per feed with minimal overhead and potential pitfalls, or how to address system pages indicating constraint violations.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • What are the strategies for achieving 99.99% uptime for an exchange?
  • Describe methods for recovering from system failures.
  • How can latency be measured in Node.js for 50 feeds processing 10,000 messages per second per feed with minimal overhead, and what are the associated pitfalls?
