Technical Coding System Design

The hiring process involves three technical interviews of increasing difficulty. These interviews will assess candidates on their project implementation details and business impact analysis, their live coding skills for technical proficiency, and their system design capabilities for architectural thinking and problem-solving. The process was structured yet conversational, leading to a positive interview experience.

I talked to a really professional HR Recruiter, and they laid out the whole process over a call. I gave them my availability, and both rounds were set up within a week. They got back to me with feedback super fast, seems like they're hiring in bulk. There were 3 rounds in total (two tech rounds and one with the manager), all scheduled around Dubai time. The vibe I got was that they're looking for someone who's mainly going to communicate in Mandarin since the team is mostly in East Asia, and the candidate needs to work in the GMT+8 timezone. They want someone who's a jack of all trades, and you gotta be prepared to ditch work-life balance to keep things running. Talking to the QA manager, who's been there less than a year, things felt a bit chaotic and not really heading in a clear direction. If you're expecting standard pay, you'll probably be overlooked for someone cheaper, they're looking at $50k - $100k/yr paid in BNB for mid to senior folks. Oh, and don't hold your breath for feedback from the interviewers.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The process has 4 rounds total. I had the HR round and the first technical round. Both interviewers weren't great at English, so I could only really talk to one, and the other had to type what she wanted to say. The job said Python or Java, but the interviewer only asked Java even though I told HR I preferred Python. The questions were about my past projects, some behavioral stuff, Java, TestNG, and CI/CD.

  • Can you list some test cases for a pen?
  • Can you write some SQL queries?
  • What are TestNG annotations?
