Mechanical Engineering
The atmosphere was very relaxed. First, another student greets you and takes you to an adjacent room to ease the tension and talk about the day's schedule. Afterward, you go into the meeting room, where I was greeted by a total of 4 people and got to start with my presentation. Overall, a very pleasant conversation, it is a job interview after all, not a coffee social. But the employees just want to get to know you, not tear you down. I received feedback over the phone the very next day with very detailed insights.

The interview usually kicks off with a warm welcome and some light chat to make things comfortable. Then, the company gives an introduction, often sharing details about their current projects. After that, it's your turn. In your self-introduction, you should clearly present your relevant experience, technical skills, and what drives you. Next, they'll ask technical questions or present case studies to check how you solve problems. Following that, the interviewers will assess your soft skills using situational questions. Towards the end, you'll have a chance to ask your own questions, and then the conversation wraps up with a summary and info on what happens next.

So I finished the whole interview thing and got a job offer, which I accepted. But then I waited a whole month and still didn't get the final paperwork or contract. With my start date getting closer (I had to relocate, you know), I emailed HR because I still didn't have the contract. I asked to push back the start date so I'd have time to move after getting the contract. HR just ghosted me until a few days before I was supposed to start, then they hit me with 'we're canceling your offer because you asked to delay the start date.' Definitely think twice if you need to move for this job. Their HR is incredibly incompetent and doesn't communicate at all.

So, this whole job thing took like 3 months to go through. Started with a quick screening call, which I thought was decent, but then got ghosted with a rejection two weeks later. Weirdly, like five weeks after that, I got another call about the same job. Apparently, the hiring manager liked my resume and projects, so he wanted to set up an interview. Even though it was out of the blue, I was like, 'Why not?' The first interview was with the team manager, who was kinda unprofessional – no camera on, and the recruiter was there too. Mostly standard behavioral questions and stuff about my projects. Even though it felt unprofessional, they hit me up the next week for another interview. This time, it was in person at their plant. We rescheduled once, but then the in-person interview happened. It felt like it went well, pretty much the same questions as the team interview, but his whole team and an HR person were there too. The team was a bit unprofessional, one guy looked like he didn't want to be there and didn't ask anything. I figured they were pulled in last minute. I thought I nailed it, but nope, got another rejection email, which was just an automated copy of the first one, which was pretty ironic. I kept checking their job board and saw the same job posted over and over, so I kinda wondered why I even bothered driving out there, especially since I saw three new postings for it the morning of my interview. Honestly, I was stumped about my qualifications since it was an entry role and I fit the description perfectly, even the preferred stuff. I tried reaching out to the recruiter and manager for feedback, but they just ignored me. And get this, the job got reposted again the morning I got my rejection.
