First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zesty.
Sales Development Representative
Started with a Zoom call with the Sales Manager. Then, I got an SDR assignment to complete. After sending it in, I had another interview with the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, and HR Manager. They were really upfront and direct in the interviews, no fake politeness. It was a clear, professional, and organized process overall.
- What made you want to apply for the SDR position at Zesty?
Product Manager
So the process kicked off with an HR phone screen, then I chatted with the Hiring Manager (Professional). After that, there was a take-home assignment. Next up was an interview with the VP of Product, followed by a meeting with the Head of Development and then the Product Designer. I also had a second interview with HR, and then another one with the Hiring Manager (Professional). Finally, they checked my references.
- Can you tell me about the most challenging situations you've encountered while working as a Product Manager?
- How have you handled various responsibilities and situations in your role as a Product Manager?
BI Developer
The interview process was quick and quite enjoyable. HR was really friendly and polite. It started with a short 10-minute call with HR. Then, there was a 1-hour technical Zoom interview with the Team Lead. After that, I had a 3-hour home assignment with a time limit. The final stage was an on-site interview, which included a 30-minute session with the Team Lead focusing on the home assignment results and a 1-hour behavioral interview with the RevOps Team Lead. An additional HR interview was planned on-site but got canceled because they decided to move forward with another candidate. They mentioned they were impressed with my experience, but I didn't get a clear reason why I wasn't selected.
- Can you explain the difference between database tables and views?
- What's the distinction between using a live connection and an extract?

Product Marketing Manager
The interview process started with an HR interview and then a Zoom call with the hiring manager. After that, there was a take-home assignment, followed by an on-site interview where I had to present the assignment. Then there was another interview with a different employee. The initial interviews were positive, but the take-home assignment was quite extensive and related to their current products, taking over 12 hours. The on-site presentation felt like I was providing free consulting, and they even mentioned implementing some of my ideas. I felt a bit under pressure to manage their expectations and appear collaborative. I got confirmation I passed to the next stage. The next interview had a very negative vibe; the interviewer seemed to perceive me as a threat and responded negatively to my ideas. He hadn't reviewed my CV or assignment beforehand, and when he did, it was confrontational. He claimed I didn't accept his feedback, despite him being unreceptive to mine and often disrespectful. This interview left me shaken, and I suspected it would negatively impact my chances. HR later informed me I didn't get the job, stating it was a difficult decision. I shared my experience with HR, who apologized and said they would pass it along. It was disappointing to know someone in a leadership position would treat candidates this way and act as a gatekeeper, making me feel like my time was wasted, especially given positive employee reviews suggesting a healthy workplace.
