Senior Backend Developer
The interview process was pretty direct, involving 3 interviews and a home assignment. First, there's an interview to check your skills against your resume, covering general design topics related to microservices, cloud infra, and CS fundamentals. Then, you get a 2-hour home assignment. The second interview is a high-level design chat with the VP, and includes an easy LeetCode problem. The third interview is purely coding, where you'll solve a problem in your preferred language.
- Design questions
- Leet Code easy problems
- Language specific knowledge questions

I applied through LinkedIn and heard back within a few days. The whole thing took about a month (including holidays), and they were super responsive, usually getting back within a few hours after each interview. Everyone I met was really nice. I had 3 technical interviews, each lasting about 1.5 hours, plus a take-home assignment. First, a quick chat with the recruiter, then a technical interview with two team leads where we discussed a design question. After that was the homework, followed by a technical interview with the VP of R&D who asked a design question and a simple coding question. Then there was an HR interview, and finally, an interview with the Team Lead of the team I'd be joining, which included a design question about AWS.
- Can you walk me through a system design problem?
- Could you solve this LeetCode-style question?

The hiring process started with an initial chat, then a technical deep dive with the team leader, followed by a homework task. After that, there was a meeting with the VP of R&D and an HR interview. It all concluded with a contract offer. They were really great throughout, making me feel at ease with their niceness and kindness. I really clicked with the team and the company's mission. What matters most to me is having good people around and an interesting product, and Zesty definitely has that and more.
- Can you discuss AWS with Boto3?
- Describe event handling with some use cases.
