The first interaction was with a recruiter based in California. Then, I was connected with the hiring manager, who is supposedly based in Germany and fluent in German. However, when I finally spoke to the hiring manager, it turned out he was based in India and had no knowledge of German. The interview, scheduled for 30 minutes, stretched to an hour. He mentioned he oversees the DACH region from India, which seemed odd considering his lack of German language skills. He asked a lot of questions about the sales process and seemed more interested in gathering information about German sales intelligence rather than assessing my suitability for an on-the-ground role. This was reinforced when he mentioned having two people in India managing the DACH region who don't speak German. He still seems to not understand the market. I also brought up the reported 15% sales headcount reduction, which he dismissed as only being in North America, but his nervousness suggested otherwise.

So first, I had an online assessment, then two technical interviews, and then a chat with HR. The first tech interview was all about Java basics, OOP, SQL, and I had to code some stuff with arrays and strings. The second tech one was more about my projects – talking about integrating Razorpay, Google APIs, JWT auth, websockets, and how I'd handle real-world problems. Lastly, HR asked me some behavioral questions to see if I'd fit in. After getting through all that, they made me an offer.

I had an online coding assessment on HackerEarth, followed by 3 rounds of interviews. The first interview was a DS Algo round where I was asked questions based on my resume and LeetCode problems like Buy and Sell stocks and longest prefix. Then there was an advanced DS Algo round. Lastly, I had an HR interview.

The interview process was pretty standard. It started with an HR screening, then after about a month, I had a round with a peer Project Manager. That was followed by a second round with a Senior Manager, and then a third with a VP. After that, HR talked to me about salary expectations. They then added another round with the GCC head, who reports directly to the CEO, as an excuse for delay. The interviewers were professionals and asked direct questions related to Project Management, client communication, planning, conflict resolution, leadership, and people management. The whole process took about 1.5 months, and then I heard nothing back. I emailed HR for an update or feedback, even negative, but got no response.
