Behavioral Technical

This was for the sciences student intern role last cycle. First, I did the Hirevue, and the questions were pretty basic like 'tell me about yourself' and 'why do you want to work at Suncor?'. About a month later, I got invited to the second interview round. I'd suggest checking out Suncor's values because a lot of the questions tied into those. It took a couple of weeks after the interview to get the offer.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online and about a week later got an invitation for a pre-recorded video interview with about 6 questions. You get 2 minutes per question and 2 tries. The questions were pretty basic. Then, two weeks later, I had an in-person interview that included a mix of general interview questions and technical ones relevant to the role. A few weeks after that, I got an automated rejection email. I reached out to the recruiter for feedback but didn't hear back.

Technical Behavioral

The interview process started with a Hirevue video interview which was mostly technical questions, but also had a few behavioral ones. After that, there was a Teams interview with the hiring manager and HR. This interview was split evenly between behavioral and technical questions. Some of the technical questions involved troubleshooting equipment and random process questions, like figuring out which item had a higher velocity based on certain information.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • What is your understanding of safety?
  • Describe a situation where you made an error and explain how you rectified it.
  • How would you approach troubleshooting equipment issues?
