Graduate Intern
So, first thing we had was this online assessment, it had like two coding questions and then some multiple choice stuff. Then, a few days later, they had this PPT thing where they told us who passed the online assessment, and after that, we went straight into the technical round. The tech round was mostly about SQL queries, like joins and subqueries. The guy also hit me with some basic DSA questions, like what's the deal between an array and an ArrayList? Oh, and he threw in a puzzle to see if I could think logically. He also asked me about the projects I've worked on. That whole technical interview was about 30 minutes. After that, I got through to the HR interview, and she just asked the usual HR questions.
- They asked about SQL queries, focusing on joins and subqueries.
- They also gave me a logical puzzle to gauge my thinking skills.

I applied and then about a month later, a recruiter just called me out of the blue. They said they'd set up an interview, but then nothing for another week until I got an interview scheduled for the next day. I emailed asking what the interview would cover but got no reply. After I totally bombed that interview, I got scheduled with another team for another interview, and I had zero info about it. Later, another recruiter hit me up about a different opening, even though I'd already gotten a rejection email for that exact role. I couldn't even connect with him though because my calls never went through. It was a pretty easy company though, they asked Leetcode Easy questions.

There were two interview rounds. The first one was with an India panel and the next was with a US panel. The US panel was more of a formality since only one person was actually from the US and they were Indian. My interview experience with State Street was not great. They rescheduled the interview last minute and during the actual interview, the interviewer was dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of helpful feedback, they said I should 'learn the language first,' which was discouraging given my four years of experience at good companies. Interviews should be respectful skill assessments, but this left me feeling discredited. I hope the company looks into how interviews are conducted because candidates deserve a fair, respectful, and unbiased process.

The recruiter reached out to me directly about an opening. Communication was mostly via phone, which sped things up. There were three main rounds after the initial HR screening. The first two were heavily technical, followed by an open-ended question about my experience. The interviewers were friendly and polite, making it easy to explain my thoughts; it felt more like a conversation than an interrogation. The final round introduced me to the team, and at that point, I felt confident about receiving an offer.
