Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at State Street.
Accountant
It was a college recruitment interview process. I applied and got an interview. The interview was conducted by 2 managers from State Street. They were nice and kind, and I didn't feel too nervous. They mainly asked questions about my summer job experiences and some questions about myself and what I have studied.
- Can you describe a typical day during your summer internship at a financial institution?
Fund Accountant
State Street's fund accounting interview process usually starts with an HR screen, then there's one round with the manager. They'll be looking at your attention to detail, how well you communicate, and if you can collaborate. The whole thing is pretty straightforward and wraps up in about two weeks.
- What makes you want to apply for this role?
Fund Accountant
It was two phone calls. The questions were technical and pretty basic. The third interview was on site with managers, and it was more challenging, but not hard. Nothing too difficult for someone who has studied economy or a related field. Even for somebody from a different background, it shouldn't take a long time to prepare.
- Can you describe the characteristics of financial instruments?
