Behavioral Technical

I applied for the Associate Category Manager position at Snapdeal and the entire interview process was done online due to COVID. The HR team managed it very professionally and smoothly. There were three rounds in total: 2 technical and 1 HR round. The whole process took a bit over two weeks. The first round was with the reporting manager, lasting over 45 minutes. They started by introducing themselves and explaining the category. The manager was very calm and made the environment comfortable. I was then asked to introduce myself and discuss my past work. They asked about major business challenges I faced and how I resolved them, along with business strategies I implemented and the KPIs I focused on. We also talked about why I wanted to join Snapdeal and my interest in e-commerce. The next round was with the department head, lasting about half an hour, focusing again on my past experiences and how I achieved business goals. The final round was with a senior HR manager, who asked about my current job, my reasons for switching, and my interest in Snapdeal.

Technical Coding

The interview started with an online MCQ and a coding question to combine overlapping array intervals, which had a 30-minute time limit. Passing that led to a technical interview. This round was a bit strange because the only coding question was about creating polyfills for old browsers, which felt outdated given the prevalence of Typescript and ES6. They also asked basic CSS and HTML questions, and nothing about modern app development like React, React Native, or Node.js. I realized halfway through that this wasn't a place where I could improve my skills in modern app development, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking to do that.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Write code to combine overlapping array intervals.
  • Could you create polyfills for older web browsers?
  • What are some common questions about CSS and HTML?
