Finance Analyst
I already had some skepticism about interviewing with the manager. I saw similar positions posted here and decided to proceed anyway. It turned out to be exactly as another user described: the manager seemed rude, making faces when the answers weren't what she wanted. Still, I'm glad she gave her final decision at the end of the interview, though not very discreetly. I think it was for the fixed asset or insurance team.
- Behavioral questions. Lots of them. Just prepare yourself on how to answer them (exaggerate as much as you can).
Sales and Management Trainee
The hiring process had four parts: first, a 1-way video interview, then a phone screening, followed by an in-store visit and interview with the manager, and finally a 1-on-1 interview with the district manager. This whole thing took about 3 weeks.
- What leadership skills do you possess that would be valuable to Sherwin-Williams?
- Can you share an example of how you've provided customer service in a previous role?
- Describe a time you set work goals and the actions you took to reach them.
Production Engineer
I was contacted by an internal recruiter by phone, who basically interviewed me during my work hours without checking my availability first. The call lasted about 20 minutes and covered my professional background; part of the interview was also in English. This first contact already seemed unusual, as a recruiter normally agrees on a suitable time with the candidate beforehand. I immediately perceived a certain lack of attention and respect towards the candidate and/or potential future employee. After three days, the recruiter contacted me again via WhatsApp (another unprofessional element), informing me that I had passed the first stage and inviting me to a second interview at the office with the HR Manager and the Plant Manager. Again, they only offered their availability, without considering mine, forcing me to take vacation days to attend the interview. The second interview was quite unusual and very quick. After I explained my background again, most of the questions focused on personal aspects, while my questions about the role received no concrete answers. In particular, I had asked for information about the typical day, the main interactions expected, the expectations for the role, and any training and support. The response was simply that "everything is to be decided" and that they had not yet defined these aspects. At the end of the interview, I was told that, due to the Christmas period, the recruiter would contact me with feedback, whether positive or negative. After three weeks with no news, I sent a follow-up email, but I never received a response. I am writing this review because, two and a half months after the first contact, the company has effectively stopped all communication, demonstrating a lack of professionalism and respect towards the candidate. Another significant point is that, five months later, the position is still open. This makes one wonder if this is another case of a "ghost job". Overall, a very negative experience.
- What kind of person are you?
- What do you like to do in life?
- Are you a good communicator?
Management Sales Intern
So the interview process was a little different than normal. The district manager was the one who interviewed me, though other management reps were there too. My advice is to go in feeling confident and not too nervous, especially if you don't interview much. It was basically just a casual chat with the district manager. They really want to see that you can bring a new, outside perspective. Make sure you have some questions ready to ask about the program, the company, or what they expect from you.
- Could you share some of your past experiences that align with the requirements of this role?
- How do you approach working collaboratively within a team environment?
- Describe a time you've taken on a leadership role and what you believe is necessary for effective leadership.
