AI Product Manager
So there were three stages for this role in the Middle East office. First, a chat with the hiring manager about fit. Then, a panel interview covering how we'd work with engineering and our core values. Finally, a take-home task that needed to be submitted before the last talk. Scheduling was a breeze, super fast responses within 48 hours. But, the panel hadn't really looked at my take-home and didn't seem to know the assignment details. They mixed up big product strategy with small feature ideas, which made talking about the bigger picture tough. They knew basic ML but not much about new GenAI stuff, so discussing modern or different tech choices was hard. They also seemed to have one solution in mind from the start, which made it tricky to explore other options. Oh, and they shot down an idea as new when it was in the company's own case studies, which felt like they didn't know their own success stories. Only go for this if you want to get into AI/ML, not if you're already an experienced AI PM.

Engagement Manager
This was a really long interview process, I think I got through 5 out of 7 rounds. The first few rounds were like 'tell me about yourself' type questions. They also had a take-home assignment which seemed pretty easy, you pick a topic to present on from a few options. Then, the next few rounds were mostly behavioral, focusing on customer service. No major surprises with the behavioral questions.
- Can you share an experience you had with a difficult customer?
- Describe a challenging customer interaction you've encountered.
Instructional Designer
I applied directly on the website. Got a response from the recruiter within a couple of days. The recruiter screening explained the rest of the process: a behavioral interview with the hiring manager, a take-home course design project, and an all-day panel interview. The panel included two behavioral interviews, a discussion about the take-home project and my instructional design approach, and an interview assessing my ability to read and explain technical white papers. After that, there was a surprise final interview with an executive. The whole process felt tough but very structured and clear, and the recruiter prepped me well for each part. We even adjusted the job level based on how I did.
- What metrics would you use to gauge how well your instructional content helps data annotators?
Operations and Strategy Manager
I was first contacted by a recruiter for a 45-minute phone screen, which was basically a chat with some of their questions mixed in. Right after, a coordinator set up a 30-minute call with the hiring manager, and then I got the take-home assignment. It involved looking at raw data, making charts and tables, and then giving a recommendation to leadership, pretty standard if you have a consulting background. You get 5 business days to finish it. If you pass that, you move on to the virtual on-site, which has four 30-minute interviews: one on Scale credos, one on working with other teams, a case study, and a chat with the Director of Delivery and Operations. I didn't make it past the take-home though, because Scale laid off a bunch of people right after I submitted it, which probably affected the role. But, Scale's interview process is really efficient; the recruiter mentioned someone got through all three rounds in just 10 days.
