First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Royal Caribbean Group.
Singer
I went to an open call audition. There were 3 people and an accompanist in the room. I sang a song I picked. Then they had me sing a song from their list that I had prepared. Next, I was supposed to go to the dance call, but the choreographer couldn't make it. They said they'd email me a link with choreography for me to learn, record, and upload. I did all that. A bit later, I got an email saying I was in the talent pool and they'd reach out with a contract when a good fit came up. I auditioned in March while working another contract, with availability to start with Royal in October. In September, near the end of my contract, I contacted Royal to confirm my continued interest and that I'd be available soon. That very day, they offered me a contract starting in late October.
- What was my availability to start?
IBP Intern
This was about a month long process. First, I had a phone call with the recruiter to go over basic info and my resume. Then, about two weeks later, I had an online interview with a senior manager where they asked thoughtful questions about the industry and my work preferences, like why I want to work for RC, why IBP, the difference between S&OP and IBP, how to ensure data reliability, and my preferred management style. A week after that, I had another online interview with a senior director who asked how I'd use my data analytics skills for the role. Finally, a few days later, the recruiter called with the offer.
- In what ways could you leverage your data analytics experience in this specific position?
Human Resources Manager
The recruiting process started off great, especially since the company seemed to be in a rush. After I submitted a business case, they just stopped responding, and I got no feedback. I had to chase the recruiter for 8 weeks before finally getting a rejection email. It's frustrating because the business case was quite challenging. I thought I liked the company, but I can't respect an organization that doesn't respect candidates' time. They suggested keeping in touch, but I won't work for a company with that attitude. I hope they don't contact me again.

- Could you describe the primary challenges you face in your present position?
Onboarding Manager
The candidate experience for the Onboarding Manager role at Royal Caribbean Cruise was disappointing due to disorganization. Interview scheduling was a mess with multiple emails containing incorrect times, requiring corrections. An unreasonable request was made to interview at 8 PM on a Friday after errors on their part. After rescheduling, an email with the correct time was sent, but the process also involved being asked to reapply through their ATS, causing confusion. The interview itself was robotic, lacking structure and enthusiasm. The rejection email was a generic copy-paste message with no specific feedback, which was frustrating given the effort invested. The company needs to improve its hiring processes for better candidate relations and company image. The disorganization and unprofessionalism damaged confidence in their procedures, despite initial excitement about the opportunity. The role itself is straightforward and doesn't demand complex skills.
- Can you tell me what you've been up to over the last 5 years?
- Could you walk me through your previous experience?
