I was contacted repeatedly by a recruiter on LinkedIn about an open position. When we finally scheduled an introductory call, I informed her that I lacked experience in the specific type of work described, though I was open to learning. She then mentioned a take-home assignment, which I agreed to. After submitting the take-home, I was prompted to self-assess its difficulty and answer some straightforward disqualifying questions. I answered honestly, as I didn't see myself in that role long-term. I anticipated a polite rejection for the effort I put into the assessment, but instead, I was ghosted. The recruiter seemed confrontational from the start, possibly having a bad day, as no rapport was established.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The take-home assignment includes various questions and tasks focused on extracting data from the DOM and assessing your familiarity with browser developer tools for issue identification, debugging, or element pinpointing within a live session.

So the interview process at Quantum Metric has 7 stages in total, and one of them is a 1-hour assessment. I got to meet a lot of really great people from different teams during the process. Each stage had a different vibe with different types of questions, so it was never boring. The difficulty is pretty high, but it’s a good thing because you end up with a much better understanding of the role and the company by the end.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Given a table of data, which data points would you examine first to understand the funnel journey?
  • Could you explain how to calculate the conversion rate?

Behavioral

The interview process was straightforward, but I wanted to share some feedback about my experience. During my conversation with Roxanne, I noticed they didn’t turn on their camera, which made it a bit challenging to establish rapport. Additionally, they seemed somewhat unfocused or disengaged, and I found myself leading most of the conversation. While I did my best to present myself and ask questions, I felt the interaction lacked the level of engagement I typically expect in an interview setting.

Confirmed questions1 question

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was incredibly long and quite manual. The recruiter kept calling or emailing to reschedule interviews. There were at least 9 interviews, including multiple chats with the hiring manager. I got through all of them. The conversation with the CEO was really dry; I'm not sure he was even paying attention unless snowboarding came up. It was an exhausting process overall, but I was determined because the new HR leader seems great. In the end, I got a generic rejection email.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • In general, were the interview questions pretty basic?
  • Was there an opportunity to talk more strategically and analytically with the hiring manager?
  • Did the interviewers seem prepared for the Zoom calls?
