Associate
The interview process usually starts with recruiters looking at resumes to pick candidates. After that, there's an initial interview, often over the phone or video, to check if you meet the basic requirements, how well you communicate, and if you're interested in the job.

Customer Success Team Lead
I applied to Preqin in December 2024 and was supposed to have an interview on Jan 8th, but the TA cancelled it last minute because they were sick. It got rescheduled for later in January, and I was told other people were in the final stages, but they'd still consider me. Then I got invited to a hiring manager interview for early February. After that, it went totally silent for almost a month, until early March when they told me I was moving on. They said the delay was because Preqin was bought by BlackRock. It was good they told me, but waiting a month with no word wasn't great. The next step was an in-person interview in London. I asked the TA if I needed to prep for the 30/60/90 day plan the hiring manager mentioned, but they never got back to me. At the on-site, one of the senior leaders yawned and then left to take a client call during the interview, leaving me with someone else who was remote. The interview ended 15 minutes early. Finally, I got a rejection email in late March. I get that I might not have been the best fit, but it felt like they already had someone in mind and were just going through the motions. The whole experience was really bad. Even with big changes like acquisitions, they need to communicate better and respect people's time. Job searching is hard, especially after being let go, and companies should remember how much effort and prep candidates put in.
- Could you describe your management style?
- How have you engaged with teams that complement your role?
- What's your method for conducting client meetings in person?
Account Manager
Had a few rounds of rough interviews with higher-ups who were either off camera or didn't seem to care about the work I put into a presentation. After a 4th round, in-person process, they ghosted me for a month with no feedback. I finally got an email for a call after a few follow-ups. The call turned out to be a rejection, which could have easily been an email, and they didn't give any feedback. They did mention a potential upcoming opportunity on another team if budget allowed. Still no word on that, so don't bother applying, they'll just waste your time.
- Could you describe the types of clients your company serves?
Research Associate
The interview process has 2 main rounds but really 3 stages including the initial screening. First, there's a screening call with a recruiter to talk about your background and see if you're a fit for the role. They'll also ask about your salary expectations. Then, you'll interview with three Senior Research Associates who will ask more specific questions about the job and assess if you'd fit into the company culture and your past experience. Finally, you'll meet with three managers, each from a different team, for interviews focusing on behavioral questions and job tasks. One of these managers would likely be your direct supervisor if you get the job.
- Can you define what an alternative asset is?
