It was a half-hour interview with the manager. They asked basic questions about my experience, what I'd bring to the company, and my sales background. They said they'd let me know the results by the end of the day, but they didn't.

It was a great interview experience with several team members. We talked a lot about my past work, the projects I've done, the tough spots I ran into, and how I fixed them. They also told me about their work, the tech stack they use, and some project challenges they face. I got to show I know what they're up to and what they focus on, making it a good technical chat. All in all, a positive interview with friendly, smart people.

I started with a phone chat with recruiting, then went to an assessment centre with 4 other people. It was really well put together, with an HR Business Partner, a Store Manager, a Senior Store Manager, and an Area Manager there. The day had a group activity, an individual task, and a one-on-one chat. For the last part, I had to do a SWOT analysis and make a 30-60-90 day plan, which I then showed to the Regional Director and Area Manager on Teams. It was a really thorough and professional process all the way through, and it seemed like they really value people moving up in the company. It was good to hear success stories of people who had grown there.

Behavioral Other

I started with a work trial, doing tasks like stocking shelves and helping customers, which gave me a feel for the job. My plantar fasciitis was considered, and the shelves were made lighter for me. After the trial, Hannah called me for a one-to-one chat. We talked about my past work experiences and the skills I've gained. I was a bit nervous, but Hannah and the team made me feel more comfortable once we started working together. My nerves and autism made it a bit hard to answer some questions clearly, but I focused on giving answers that showed I was a good fit for the role.

  • What skills or knowledge did you gain from your role as a customer service assistant at the Co-Operative?
