Group interviews are great for seeing how candidates work together, if they can lead, and how they think fast. Employers can see how people handle stress, show what they know, and their personality in a group. So, group interviews are a good way to really check out a candidate's skills and if they fit the job or company.

Customer Assistant
After submitting an online application, candidates proceeded to a group interview. During this stage, we learned about how Pets at Home operates and their expectations. The staff introduced themselves, after which we were asked to stand up and introduce ourselves. Following this, we participated in a group task where we formed a team and created an animal starter pack for a given animal. This involved a significant amount of public speaking. The process concluded with one-on-one interviews.

I applied online and then got an email later (it was in my spam!). I went to a group interview with 12 people interviewing and 12 staff members, each marking one of us. We had to pair up and introduce each other with an interesting fact. Then, in groups of three, we built a bridge out of newspaper that could hold a small fish tank underneath, and then we had to put as many dog toys on it as possible without it collapsing. Next, in pairs, we picked an item from the shop floor to sell to the rest of the group. We all then had to say an animal we'd love to own and why. After that, there was a quick one-on-one chat. Later, I got invited for a job trial with 5 other people and another interview. I cleaned out the guinea pigs and rabbits. Then I had an interview in the manager's office. After that, I built 6 cat carriers and then spent two hours organizing a full aisle, bringing stock forward and making sure everything was in the right place. The manager said I'd hear back in 3 days if I was successful, but I got an email after 5 days saying I wasn't.
