The interview process had 3 stages. First, I had a quick chat over the phone with a recruiter. After that, I had a competency-based interview on Teams with the Area Manager. The final stage was a face-to-face interview where I had to do a SWOT analysis for a store and then present my findings and a 90-day plan to the Area Manager and a People Partner. I really enjoyed the whole thing because the interviewers were pretty relaxed.

I started with a phone chat with recruiting, then went to an assessment centre with 4 other people. It was really well put together, with an HR Business Partner, a Store Manager, a Senior Store Manager, and an Area Manager there. The day had a group activity, an individual task, and a one-on-one chat. For the last part, I had to do a SWOT analysis and make a 30-60-90 day plan, which I then showed to the Regional Director and Area Manager on Teams. It was a really thorough and professional process all the way through, and it seemed like they really value people moving up in the company. It was good to hear success stories of people who had grown there.

I was invited to an interview with the store manager and area manager at my local store about 3 weeks after applying. Apparently, there was a systems error. When I arrived, I let them know I was there and was asked to walk around the store for 35 minutes while they finished another interview. It took a manager 30 minutes to come and apologize. The interview finally started and lasted about 50 minutes. They asked the usual questions, but the area manager kept going on tangents and really liked hearing himself talk. It was a shame because when he did focus, he did a good job selling the company, so I was disappointed not to move forward. I know this might sound bitter, but I feel it's an honest assessment.
