I applied online and then attended interviews at three different Panda Express locations and a job fair. I was interviewed for roles from entry-level up to assistant manager, including Cook and Shift Leader. Unfortunately, I was turned down for all of them, despite having strong food service, customer service, and management experience, and presenting professionally. It felt like the interviewers weren't really listening to my answers and were just going through the motions. I found their interview style to be quite strange.

The whole interview process felt like a waste of time. I applied and a recruiter contacted me within a week. She mentioned it would be a long process, but I was super keen on the job so I was okay with it. I ended up having 4 interviews in total. The first three were on Teams, with about 2-3 managers each time. After each interview, the recruiter told me I did great and that feedback was positive, and that everything was looking good. Then, they decided to have me come in for an in-person interview, which was a panel with 6 women. It started out fine, they asked the same questions from the Teams interviews, like about my experience, all pretty standard stuff. But then, towards the end, they asked questions totally unrelated to the job... like, one manager asked how big my house was? And about my mom? The interview ended quickly after that, and as I was leaving, I could hear them all laughing. The recruiter was there again and gave me a tour of the office. I went home, and a few days later, the recruiter called to say they weren't going to fill the position right now. No feedback was given. That was it. Weeks later, I saw the same job posting again.

The interview process started with a good recruiter call. Then, I moved to the next stage, interviewing with the district manager and a panel. This was the most unprofessional interview I've experienced. The meeting link wasn't provided, and the recruiter didn't respond to my emails or calls beforehand. About 15 minutes after the scheduled start, I got a call asking what was up. I explained, and they texted a link. I joined right away, but they seemed to blame me for the delay. Two panelists had their video off, and when they spoke, their driving made it distracting and hard to hear. The district manager started asking questions, and it felt like it wasn't going well, which I own. After about 15 minutes, another panelist took over, and the district manager left without a word. It was very unprofessional.

The interview process was quick and pretty chill. You don't need to dress up too much, just semi-professional, and just relax. It's not a huge deal to interview here, it was very relaxed and the questions were simple. They really care about customer service.
