First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Panda Express.
Shift Leader
I applied online and then attended interviews at three different Panda Express locations and a job fair. I was interviewed for roles from entry-level up to assistant manager, including Cook and Shift Leader. Unfortunately, I was turned down for all of them, despite having strong food service, customer service, and management experience, and presenting professionally. It felt like the interviewers weren't really listening to my answers and were just going through the motions. I found their interview style to be quite strange.
- What valuable lessons have you learned from your previous management roles?
Shift Leader
They ask if you know Panda's values and what they are. Depending on the manager, they might ask you to show how to cook something from the menu. They also ask why you want the position and what you would do if you got it.
- What are Panda's mission values?
- Can you show me how to cook an item on the menu?
- Why are you interested in this position?
Shift Supervisor
It tooks two weeks for them to email me back. Then they requested a face to face interview, then I got an email for a job offer, trained for a few days and then they transferred me to my store.
- What was the most stressful situation you've dealt with?
