I recently interviewed with Moderna for a Manufacturing Associate role in Harwell Oxfordshire. The process involved three separate interviews with a total of five people, which felt excessive for what I perceive as a glorified operator position with inadequate pay. The interview lasted three hours, and by the end, I realized the job wasn't for me. The repetitive nature of the questions asked by different interviewers was also a drawback, making the experience lengthy and time-consuming, diminishing my interest in the role.

They really live by the cultural mindset of “We pursue options in parallel to make the best choice later”… perhaps too much. I had a really intense interview day with 5 separate 45-minute interviews all on the same day. After all that, the last interview was with the corporate recruiter, which honestly should have been the first step. In just 5 minutes, she determined I wasn't a good fit, which felt like a huge waste of everyone's time, including mine and her colleagues'.

It was a long process, with more than 7 interviews covering HR, my direct manager, their manager, the General Manager, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical teams. We had a deep dive into the company's values and mindset, which was an interesting exchange to understand the company's objectives. There was also a one-hour business case presentation required.

Applied online and heard back from HR about 6 months later for the first interview. Then I had a second interview with the Hiring manager. After that, I interviewed with a department head I would work with, and also had an evaluation test. The interviews were nice, and I enjoyed them, looking forward to the next steps. But, they never got back to me with a decision. It was pretty disturbing to be ghosted after so many rounds. Maybe I dodged a bullet though, if they can't even give a one-sentence decision, what happens when you're really in trouble and need good communication?
