I've interviewed with Moderna and had a bad impression because their communication isn't great, they tend to offer positions below your credentials, and they try to manage online reviews. A lot of ex-Moderna employees I've spoken with at my current company say the work environment is toxic and the only good thing is the pay. Some felt tricked into lower positions, which almost happened to me. I was contacted by someone trying to do damage control, and while I appreciate the effort to improve the hiring process in Biotech, apply at your own risk. There are many other Biotech companies with great cultures and good compensation.

I was contacted initially for a phone interview followed by an onsite with several individuals. I thought the team members were pleasant and the interview seemed to go well. Quite some time passed before I was called back for a second interview. Again, the team seemed to be very nice people and the interview was very conversational. However, I got a sense that the environment is chaotic and reactive (rather than proactive). I know they are experiencing growth but there's still a lot of uncertainty with major partners pulling out of deals. Meanwhile my lukewarm enthusiasm maybe had an impact on my outcome but not sure if this is a great environment in which to work.

I applied online and reviewed the requirements. As a senior QA dev with decades of experience, I felt I met all the criteria. However, my application was rejected with the reason 'as our requirements were not a match with your experience,' which made me think the actual requirements were different from what was posted.
