The interview was on campus, so first we had an online assessment, then 3 offline rounds: Technical, Managerial, and HR. The Technical interview was tough and really checked my NLP and statistics fundamentals. Only 14 out of 32 candidates passed this round. The Managerial round had case study questions which I didn't do well on. Lastly, the HR round was pretty chill.

I was scouted by a recruiter on LinkedIn, then had a second round with a hiring manager. The third round was a case study where I had to develop a product plan. Honestly, I used ChatGPT for it, and throughout the process, they kept complimenting me in a strange way. The final call was with a VP who clearly didn't know how to interview and hadn't even looked at my background. He started grilling me on the presentation I gave, which was weird since they asked me to build a whole hour-long presentation. It felt pretty disrespectful. He admitted he was reading my LinkedIn for the first time during the interview. I didn't follow up, and they never got back to me.

The recruiter interview was unprofessional. She seemed tired and uninterested, complaining that the job had been open for too long and grumbling about the hiring manager's pickiness. I know this might be due to misaligned hiring requirements, but as someone who prepared for this interview, it was discouraging and gave me a bad impression. It was disappointing because I was interested, and my skills matched. In the future, please streamline your hiring process and align on requirements to avoid discrepancies. Also, improve the candidate experience - remember candidates spend time preparing and out of their day. Be professional and enthusiastic, you're the company's face.

The hiring process for this role involved three stages. Initially, there was an HR screening, followed by a technical assessment, and finally a culture fit interview. The HR and technical interviews were scheduled for an hour each and focused on assessing candidate knowledge and abilities. The culture fit round, initially planned for 30 minutes, was surprisingly brief, concluding in just 5 minutes. Compounding the experience, the interviewer faced internet connectivity issues, and unfortunately, no feedback was provided post-interviews despite the time invested.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Technical and HR questions regarding skills and knowledge were posed.
