I interviewed for Media iQ back in December 2015, getting referred by someone who works there. They called me in to their Bangalore office for the interview. It was a full day affair with 4 main parts: First, an initial screening where some other folks got sent home. Then, a CV-based/tech discussion, focusing on my data analytics projects from my resume and including a couple of brain teasers. After that, a data analytics round where I was given an Excel sheet and had to put together a presentation with insights and recommendations within two hours. Finally, a deck presentation, more puzzles, and some SQL questions. There was also an HR chat. I was hoping for an offer, but sadly, it didn't happen, and I'm not sure why since they didn't give me any feedback.

So there were like four rounds in total. First was a written test, then technical round 1, technical round 2, and finally the managerial round. The written test had a mix of aptitude, SQL and python questions. Technical round 1 was all about intermediate SQL, then implementing the same logic in Excel and python data frames. Technical Round 2 was more about your skills, project details, your best work experience, and self-rating yourself on skills like python, SQL, and tableau. The Managerial Round was the toughest one, with questions on Stats, guestimates, and a puzzle.
- Can you guess the number of traffic lights in a city?
- Solve the Rat and poisonous milk bottles puzzle.
- What is the method to determine the optimal number of clusters for a clustering algorithm?

I applied through LinkedIn and got an email from HR for a "TakeHome" assignment that I needed to complete within three days. I submitted the assignment and passed that round. After that, I was called for a face-to-face round, and the difficulty was average. HR then informed me to expect a call from a senior hiring manager from the US the following week since I cleared that round. It's been two weeks, but no response from HR. I sent an email for feedback and candidature status, but she continues to show unprofessional behavior.
- Can you do a guesstimate?
- Do you know SQL, specifically Joins and Cases?
- Are you familiar with Pandas?
