A relaxed meeting with the site manager. A casual conversation about the future, expectations, experiences, and interests. The conversation was with 2 people and in the shared 'room'. There was also a short tour of the building and the workspaces.

First, an introductory call with HR went well. However, days later, the technical interview was canceled at the last minute. Due to the time zone difference, I was asked to connect very early. I waited in the meeting until someone joined only to tell me it was canceled without prior notice, which was very unprofessional.

Extremely unprofessional process. After the initial HR call where conditions were set, I was invited for a 2nd interview where I had to prepare a complex case. The interview went well and we talked about starting. I mentioned I could only do 3 months which HR knew and was in the ad. This was unknown to both interviewers. Then I was rejected via a simple email, likely due to availability. Besides the unprofesional internal communication and being called by 3 different interns asking the same questions and being uninformed, I wasted my time on a case study and a long interview. If my availability was communicated better internally from the start, I would have saved myself the interview and process!

Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process had two parts: an initial HR phone call and then an online technical assessment. The HR chat was a relaxed conversation about my past experiences and the company's objectives. The technical part focused on Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. They had over 20 questions, many involving code snippets, asking about expected output or why errors occurred. Even when I struggled, they were supportive and helped me stay calm. I did answer a couple of questions incorrectly, but they were understanding. Their communication and interviewing approach were very helpful. Note: this was during the pandemic, so the process might be different now.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Could you explain why this code is producing an error?
