Had a brief Skype call with HR, which was very pleasant. The purpose was to clarify the general conditions and expectations of consulting life (more than 40h week, 4 days at the client's site, 1 day in the office, etc.). Nothing unexpected - nice and friendly. Then, there was an in-person meeting with a Partner in Wolfsburg. It was professional, personal, and open. A deeper, technical discussion took place, which was appropriate for the advertised position. The business model and career opportunities were explained in detail. Shortly after the in-person meeting, there was another Skype call with HR, which also went well and didn't present any significant hurdles. The offer came quickly, and overall, it was one of the fastest and most personal recruiting processes I've experienced so far (even though I ultimately declined the offer for other reasons).

About 1-2 weeks after applying, I was invited to an initial interview with HR. In the interview, I was asked about my previous roles on my resume. Overall, I had a positive impression until I started asking questions. Then I got the impression I was bothering the lady a bit. After that, there was a long wait of 3 weeks before I received a standard rejection email. Very disappointing, as to this day I don't know what I did wrong, besides asking too many questions.

It was fair, transparent, and at eye level. Very clear application process with clear steps and contact persons. Clear expectations during the whole process and they are communicated openly. Overall very appreciative. This is how it should always be.
