After two interviews, I had another general interview and a site visit. When I arrived, within five minutes, I was told the role was filled by an inside hire. They said they just wanted me to see what the role could have been. I think a call or email would have been better than making me take a day off to come in person, hoping it was the last round, only to be rejected at the door. It was a strange situation. Besides that, the interview experience was normal, but that rejection method put me off.

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn about the Project Engineer role and they asked about my salary expectations. No salary was listed in the job posting. About a month later, I had a phone screen with HR where they asked if I would accept an offer at the salary I previously mentioned. Another month passed, and I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager, which was surprisingly brief at only 10 minutes. A month after that, I went in for a 5-hour in-person panel interview, which included a tour of the facility and lunch. Unfortunately, about 5 weeks after the panel interview, I received an automated email stating that I was not selected for the position.

The interview process began with an initial phone screen conducted by HR. This was followed by a second interview, a video chat with the hiring manager. The third and final interview was held in person at the facility. They asked about my minimum salary expectations upfront, which felt a bit awkward. The in-person interview was a bit disorganized and didn't stick to the schedule. While most of the people I met were great, particularly the local leadership, one team lead was somewhat unprofessional, which was surprising.
