First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KPMG.
Graduate Auditor
After submitting my online application for the Graduate Audit Insurance program, I was sent an email inviting me to a timed video interview. I got to pick when I wanted to do it. Before I started, there were some technical tips and general interview advice, like what to wear, how to prepare, and how to check my camera and sound. The interview itself had 4 questions that I could see beforehand. I had about 1.5–2 minutes to prepare and record my answer for each one. Two of the questions were in English, and two were in German. They focused on my personality, my motivation, and a recent trend in the financial market.
- In your opinion, why are you a strong candidate for an interview for this position?
- What is your perspective on a recent event or trend within the financial markets?
- What drives your interest in this opportunity?
Tax Associate
The first step was a recruiter call where we discussed my graduation date, my preferred service lines, and my interest in KPMG. After that, I had a 1-hour interview scheduled back-to-back with two interviewers, a manager and a managing director, with each interview lasting 30 minutes.
- Can you tell me about the biggest challenge you encountered in your academic or previous work experience?
- What are your future aspirations?
- What draws you to a career in tax?
Intern
For the KPMG internship, the process had three parts. First, I sent in my application. Then, I had to write an essay on a topic given to me, which was meant to show how I think and communicate. Lastly, there was an interview where I was asked questions about my past, how I solve problems, and my experiences working with others. It felt pretty organized and professional, and the interviewer was nice and made me feel comfortable.
- Tell me about a challenge you encountered while working on a team project and how you overcame it.
Software Engineer Intern
You start with an online application where you submit your CV and some personal details. Then there are online assessments which include logical, numerical, and personality tests. After that, you go to an assessment center for a case study, group tasks, and interviews. If you do well, you get a job offer. Finally, there's onboarding where you join a training bootcamp and start the program.
- Can you elaborate on all the points mentioned in your CV?
- Since this program is for fresh graduates, can you tell us more about your CV details, understanding you might not have extensive professional experience?
