Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KPMG.
Tax Intern
I had two interviews back-to-back, each lasting 30 minutes. They were pretty conversational and included some standard behavioral questions. Both interviewers were nice and answered my questions, seeming happy in their roles. I got the offer three business days after the interview.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to adapt to change?
Tax Associate
The first step was a recruiter call where we discussed my graduation date, my preferred service lines, and my interest in KPMG. After that, I had a 1-hour interview scheduled back-to-back with two interviewers, a manager and a managing director, with each interview lasting 30 minutes.
- Can you tell me about the biggest challenge you encountered in your academic or previous work experience?
- What are your future aspirations?
- What draws you to a career in tax?
Tax Senior
The interview was mostly conversational, a general chat about my work experience and career interests. There were a few technical questions, but it wasn't meant to test me or put me on the spot, but more so to get an idea of my experience.
- They asked me about my general background and work experience.
- There were a few questions on if I was familiar with a few technical concepts, but I wasn't fully familiar and they didn't press on it.
