I also talked about my familiarity with service desk operations, specifically logging, tracking, and resolving tickets within the agreed service level agreements (SLAs). My understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes and my experience supporting users in demanding environments were also covered.

The interview process started with an aptitude test, which is the first elimination round. This round had sections on Quantitative Ability (covering topics like Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Percentages, Ratio), Logical Reasoning (including puzzles, seating arrangements, and coding-decoding), and Verbal Ability (grammar and reading comprehension). There was also a Technical Section covering C/C++/Java basics, OOPS concepts, DBMS basics, OS basics, Data Structures, and output-based questions. Next was a Coding Round, usually featuring 1-2 easy to medium programming questions on platforms like HackerRank, which is crucial for system engineer roles. Following that was a Technical Interview focusing on core knowledge. Questions might include introductions, project explanations, OOPS concepts, differences between C and C++, pointers, DBMS, normalization, SDLC, and coding problems like string reversal or array sorting. The process continues with an L2 Technical interview, a manager round, and a final round.

The company came to our college for final placements. The first round was an HR interview, which went well and lasted about 10 minutes. I was also shortlisted for a second, technical interview round. Placement committee members said we'd be called individually, but I never got a call from the company.

We started with a take-home assessment, followed by two interview rounds. The first was a technical round, which is pretty straightforward if you know your stuff and communicate well. The second was an HR round where they mainly talked about salary and tried to negotiate what I was expecting.
