First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hudson's Bay Company.
Administrative Assistant
It was a pretty quick process overall. They asked standard questions about my experience and skills for about 10 minutes. I didn't get a lot of details about the position, even when I asked at the end. They got back to me within a few days.
- Tell me about your experience using task management software.
Graphic Designer
It was a smooth and easy interview! They spoke to me respectfully and explained how everything works out for me in a way that makes you feel proud. I could tell I've worked with him before, he has a great relationship and the best life, in the sense that he can have with you. As a person, I can tell you about him as a man. I know you're in the same situation as him. I'm so sorry you're going through this, and I'm sure he is too.

Sales Associate
So, applying for a Sales Associate role at Hudson's Bay is usually pretty simple and fast. You can apply online or in the store. Sometimes there's a quick phone call to screen you, but other times they might just go straight to an in-person interview. The main interview is normally at the store with the manager or a supervisor. It could be just you and them, or it might be a group thing. They'll ask basic stuff like why you're interested in the job, when you can work, and your thoughts on what makes for great customer service. Occasionally, they'll throw in some situation-based questions or a short role-play, like demonstrating how you'd sell something or deal with a tough customer. It's not a super tough process, and if it goes well, you'll probably hear back about an offer within a few days. Sometimes they do a background check before the offer, but not always. All in all, it's a speedy and pleasant process, and they're mostly looking for someone with a good attitude, who communicates well, and has good customer service skills.
- What's your approach to managing an unhappy customer?
Data Engineer
We started with an HR screening, then the first round focused on Python, SQL, and PySpark. The second round was a technical discussion covering Airflow, Snowflake, and the operational aspects of data engineering. Finally, there was another HR round.
- Can you tell me about your Python skills?
- How comfortable are you with SQL?
- What's your experience with PySpark?
