Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hudson's Bay Company.
Associate Manager
The interview was super straightforward and I totally got what they were asking. They asked stuff about how I'd handle unhappy customers and sort things out. Also asked about how I'd guide my team using KPIs.
- Can you tell me about your experience in retail and team leadership?
- How do you handle customer complaints?
- What's your approach to resolving customer issues?
Manager
The interview process is pretty standard. It starts with an HR screening, then you have an interview with the hiring manager. The first round is a phone screen, about 30 minutes. The second interview is longer, around an hour. Just typical interview rounds.
- What's your reason for leaving your current employer?
Management Trainee
The interview process involved a phone screening with a recruiter, followed by a face-to-face interview with the recruiter. Next, there was a learning and development interview, then an interview with a store's general manager, and finally a human resources interview. The whole process took a while because setting up each interview took a few days.
- Can you tell me about your three biggest strengths?
- What would you consider your three main weaknesses?
- Describe an instance where you had to think outside the box.
