Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process with HII Mission Technologies was efficient and the interview panel provided very positive feedback. I was formally given an intent-to-offer letter, which strongly indicated I had been selected based on my qualifications and performance. One to two days later, the offer was abruptly rescinded because the customer decided not to move forward. I was explicitly told I was a strong candidate and well qualified for the role. Based on my experience and how closely I matched the requirements, I am confident that I exceeded the qualifications for the position. The sudden reversal after an intent-to-offer, without any substantive explanation, was highly unprofessional and raised serious concerns for me about transparency and fairness in the final decision-making process. When a candidate is told they are selected and then the decision is withdrawn without clarity, it undermines trust in the process. Greater accountability and clearer communication from the customer side would significantly improve the candidate experience.

Behavioral Technical

Had a quick call with HR first, then went on to a 30-minute video chat. It was mostly behavioral questions, and they asked about my previous experiences. Some specific questions included why I'm interested in working here, how I learned about HII, and to share a challenging situation I faced at work and how I handled it.

I first interviewed over the phone, then got called in for an in-person interview. I applied for a Contracts Administrator Level 1, but they later specified Level 2 for the in-person interview without explaining why. During the in-person interview, two team members were there physically, and the manager joined virtually. One of the in-person interviewers was adversarial, for unclear reasons. After the interview, I asked for contact information and was given the contact details of one of the interviewers. I sent a thank you email right away and then followed up a month later about my application status, but they never responded.

Group Behavioral

It started with a basic HR call, then a group interview with 5 people. The hiring manager pretended his camera was broken, so I turned mine off too because it should be a two-way street. Everyone in the group interview had their cameras off, which felt like a red flag. It seemed like nobody wanted to show their face there. After getting the offer, the onboarding was a complete disaster, totally messed up by this hiring manager and other HII folks. He even bragged about messing up the laptop shipment to my remote place because he's so clueless. The hiring manager also kept pushing me to use my own gear for company paperwork and to join onboarding meetings, even after being told no. The whole vibe, the dishonesty, and the onboarding process felt really unprofessional and seemed like they were intentionally trying to mess with candidates. I ended up quitting because of the hiring manager's weird behavior, wanting me to use my personal equipment, being late with company stuff for meetings, and his constant lying. It was the worst onboarding I've experienced in over 20 years, and HII's wasn't even close to the second worst. So many red flags with HII's onboarding, I lost count. I knew it would be a mistake and a waste of time to take the offer from HII. What a joke of an experience, and they don't even seem embarrassed about it.
