I had a meeting with the manager and the regional manager, and then a day where I shadowed a Senior Rep in the region. The interviews were standard, and the shadow day was a good way to see the different types of businesses and the prospecting that is needed.

Behavioral Other

This was an unprofessional interview experience. The interviewer seemed uninterested, as if she was just trying to get through as many interviews as possible. I asked for her email to send a thank you, but she never sent it. The rejection was a generic template, showing no effort towards candidates. She couldn't answer basic questions about the role and didn't follow up with answers. The whole process felt like a job mill.

I got to the third round. They already have five people in Washington. Just to be clear, all leads are outbound, meaning you have to generate your own business. They're good at coaching you on your weak spots and sharing more about their sales strategies. The initial hiring process is pretty much just to get you in the door. After that, it's really about your personality. I mentioned that the minimum salary in WA is $77k+, and the base salary of $51k seemed a bit off. It's not even enough to cover bills, and that apparently 'put them off' in the last round. Digital Marketing is a new area, and their product line is pretty basic, to be honest.

The interview process involved an initial phone call, followed by an in-person interview that included a writing test and a web test. It felt pretty standard for the industry. They also asked some questions about my skill level and the digital tools I'm familiar with.
