Behavioral Presentation

It was a really thorough and comprehensive interview process. First, I had a 1:1 phone screen, and then an in-person interview at Hallmark HQ in downtown Kansas City. The interview itself was friendly and conversational, and they also gave me a tour of relevant employee spaces. I got a great background into the company and some good insight into the role.

I found the interview process pretty straightforward and pleasant. After I applied online, I got an email to set up a phone interview. I chatted with a manager who was really nice and easy to talk to. They asked me why I was interested in the company and what made me a good fit for the merchandiser role, plus my strengths. They also let me know about the longer hours needed during holidays and some other requirements. Then, they offered me the job and said my supervisor would reach out soon. The virtual training they provided was also really thorough and they paid me for my time.

I had a phone screen at first and they said they'd let me know if I was moving on. A few days later, I got an email saying to watch out for an invite for my next interview. Someone nice helped me set up the next two interviews, which were hour-long Teams calls. I felt both went really well, and I followed up by email, but I never heard back. Then I got a generic rejection email a week after the second one. I reached out to the first HR person to thank her and ask for feedback, but no response. It felt pretty impersonal after I put in several hours talking with them and thought they liked me.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The hiring process took months. Communication from the team was really unreliable and didn't match what they had told me or emailed before. I had a 1-hour phone screening, followed by a second 1-hour interview via Teams. Then there was a several-week break in communication, but I was still hopeful hearing there would be two more interviews, each an hour long and during the workday. After my fourth interview, I was completely ignored and ghosted by the hiring team, only to find out they were moving forward with an internal candidate after a month of no contact since my last interview.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • In one interview, a panelist inquired if my current employer was aware of my job search and interviews for other positions.
