Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hallmark.
Sales Associate
The interview was a straightforward and good way to evaluate potential hires. The questions were quite insightful and really seemed to gauge your skills and past experiences relevant to being a sales associate.
- How would you handle a direct customer complaint?
Sales Associate
I had a phone call first, then I went in for an in-person interview. It was mostly about my past experience in similar retail jobs. They were concerned about the pay I expected, noting that Falmouth doesn't pay very well, but I took the job anyway because I needed it.
- How many hours would you like to work?
- Have you used any software for processing sales before?
- Can you tell me about your customer service experience?
Sales Associate
After getting my resume in and having a current employee put in a good word for me, I got a call to come in for an interview. The interview itself went pretty smoothly, the manager seemed really chill and approachable. They asked pretty standard stuff like why I'm interested in Hallmark, any tough situations I've dealt with, and if I've used a cash register before (which I haven't). The whole interview part was maybe 10 minutes. Then, the manager came back with this honesty questionnaire that took about 20 minutes to fill out. Apparently, they only give that to people who pass the first interview bit. Even though the interview seemed to go well, I got an email saying I didn't get the job.
- What makes Hallmark a better choice than other card shops?
- Tell me about a difficult situation you've handled.
- Have you had experience using cash registers?
