First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hallmark.
Merchandiser
Straightforward interview. Was offered the position at the end of the Zoom meeting. Was told I'd get confirmation from corporate within 2 days, then got a rejection email. Reached back out to the person I interviewed with. Never heard back.
- If I had reliable transportation.
Retail Merchandiser
I found the interview process pretty straightforward and pleasant. After I applied online, I got an email to set up a phone interview. I chatted with a manager who was really nice and easy to talk to. They asked me why I was interested in the company and what made me a good fit for the merchandiser role, plus my strengths. They also let me know about the longer hours needed during holidays and some other requirements. Then, they offered me the job and said my supervisor would reach out soon. The virtual training they provided was also really thorough and they paid me for my time.
- Would you be available to work extra hours during the holiday season and on December 26th?
Retail Merchandiser
It's a quick 15-minute phone chat to see if you vibe with the role before they move you to the next step. You'll start with a brief intro and maybe some small talk, then they'll ask you to share about your background and experience. They might follow up with a couple of questions about your skills or how you've handled past work situations. They'll also give you some info about the job and the company. Towards the end, you'll get a chance to ask them a question or two, and they'll outline what's next. It's more of a vibe check, really, so don't stress too much.
- Do you have prior experience in this field and are you able to commit the necessary time?
